The Venue

Thanks to everyone who has made very generous donations. We are working hard to make the August 9th event on Saturday very special. Our band, Tavern Style, is hard at work rehearsing our fascinating setlist guaranteed to get you up dancing. The event will take place at Friendly’s, located at 6729-6733 Roosevelt Road, Berwyn, IL 60402. Mary Vondriska, Nurse and Event Coordinator.

The Gifts

We have had some very generous donors offer fabulous gifts for the raffles! For example, we have two tickets to A Sound of Music at the Nederlander in Chicago on October 21st at 7 PM, a progressive business website and eBusiness card combination with one year of free web hosting and maintenance, two one-night Airbnb stays in Berwyn and Oak Park, both within walking distance to Fitzgerald’s, The Friendly Community, Autre Monde, etc., two handmade, beautiful boards that are perfect for charcuterie, just to name a few.

The Cuisine

Casciani’s Pizzeria will cater some of their authentic, signature dishes, including Lemon Chicken, Pasta, Italian Beef Sandwiches, and Salads (Cookies and coffee will also be provided). There will be a cash bar, Live music, a raffle basket, a silent auction, and a split-the-pot raffle! Ride-sharing is advised; street parking is limited—Ticket price: $50.00. About Mary Lomma

Mary Alice (Larson) Lomma, age 50, of Winfield, IL, was called to heaven by our Lord on Monday, September 26, 2022. She was born in Rockford, IL on December 11, 1971, a gift from God to loving parents, Peter and Marianne (Poli) Larson. She graduated from Boylan Catholic High School and went on to complete her Undergraduate Degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. Mary’s dedication to her profession and her unwavering commitment to helping others serve as a powerful inspiration to us all. She found her calling to be a nurse, just like her beloved Aunt Betty Earlywine, and received her Nursing Degree from Loyola University Nursing School. She worked in the MICU for over 25 years at Loyola University Hospital in Maywood, IL. This was her first and only job…a true testament of her desire to live out her life of service to others. Mary took exceptional pride in precepting new nurses, helping new medical residents and respiratory therapists. Her love for helping and caring for others was the epitome of her nursing career as well as her family life.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of true companionship with her colleagues and the tight-knit group of friends that were part of her family.
